Windows XP crash, I need help

My pc keeps telling me that my windows/system32/config/system file is missing
or corrupt and the pc will not boot. It just keeps failing and trying to
reboot itself. I have a home built pc and no longer have my windows xp disk.
Anyone have any idea how I can fix this problem?
