Windows XP cpu 100% when running bejewelled

In the last 2 weeks Bejewelled has slowed to a snails
pace, can almost have a coffee waiting for the drop to
complete. Prior to this, the game ran normally, no issues.
I tried restoring to an earlier point, no improvement!

All I can see is the iexplore.exe running at 100%, even
with all other programs and supports shut down (firewalls,
internet, virus protection all shut down).

Anybody have any suggestions?
 
Sorry mate i have the kinda same prob on xp pro with c&c gen and redalert 2 they were playing fine but now the go so far itto in and i get slowdown and stuttering then it goes back to normal i dunno whats wrong

If this is the deluxe version of Bejeweled, reinstall it.

Here's how to properly install or reinstall a game (and/or patch):
1. Backup any saved games and/or mods to a safe location.
Save games are often found in My Documents\My Games.
2. Uninstall the game using Control Panel / Add-Remove programs.
* Manually delete the game folder if Add-Remove doesn't work.
3. Clear any references to the game leftover in your registry using this

4. Click My Computer / Rightclick the Drive & Choose Properties
/ Run the "Disk Cleanup..." / Next Click the "Tools" Tab and run
the "Error-Checking" and "Defragmentation" utilities.
5. After a reboot close & exit your Antivirus and any other programs

6. Install the game again from your original CD, do not use a backup.
7. Don't reuse the saved games/mods until you properly test the game.
