Does anyone know how to get a cd replaced or where to go
to or who to conact regaring the replacement of a Windows
XP Professional cd that won't work anymore? I purchased
the CD close to a year ago. None of my cd-roms will read
from the disk--and yes, the cd-rom drives are all in good
working order. It seems the only assistance Microsoft
thinks people need is support due to ignorance.
Neverthelss, I have been unable to locate support for
product replacement on Microsoft's website, which may of
course be of my own ignorance.

Thanks

Hi Tony,

See:

How to Replace Lost, Broken, or Missing Microsoft Software or Hardware

But, you mention that none of your disks work, and you maintain that the
drives are working fine - how did you determine this? Have your tried a
simple CD lens cleaner yet?

If yours was a retail version, see

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;[ln];326246.

But if it was an OEM version, Microsoft won't support it and
you're probably out of luck. However it doesn't hurt to try
asking the OEM you bought it from if they can replace it.
