If you can't boot from the CD-ROM, why do you think it is not working?

To "Repair", you boot from the CD. If the drive won't work to BOOT the
CD, then you replace the drive.

Bob thanks for helping him understand.

poly, When you said "but can no run/open CD, even windows installation CD."
I thought you had tried booting from the CD. If you want you can go into
your bios by hitting a certain key when the computer is first starting up
(usually the del key) And set your boot to boot from the CD-rom before the
hard drive. I assumed that you had already tried this and it wouldn't boot
to the cd. If you cannot boot to the cd then you will need to replace your
drive. It is a very simple and easy replacement, just make sure your power
cord is unplugged. Changing your CD-Rom you can still create an
electro-static shock to the Motherboard so be careful when doing all this
touch the case first, and when your hands are near the motherboard keep a
touch on the case to prevent damage.

Then hardware is working. What is the error message found in Device
Manager for the CD drive?

In that case perhaps you may uninstall it in device manager and allow it
to reinstall itself. The other possible cause is malware on the PC.
