I downloaded some patches and critical downloads from the Windows Update site. Not sure if that led to my problem, but my computer won't boot up. My OS is Windows 200 XP Pro. I have McAfee for Virus protection. When trying to boot up I get: Boot Block v1.0 that comes up. I cannot get into the BIOS or Windows. It also shows my memory. I've tried almost everything I know and have read on it and no luck. I've checked the power supply, the battery, the memory, on the motherboard... hit reset CMOS, moved jumper cables and replaced my video card. I downloaded from another computer the 6 floppy disks for XP Pre Set up, and even tried replacing the BIOS with no luck. With the 6 disks, I can load all 6 and it says it will start windows, but it says I don't have enough memory to do so. I have plenty of memory, and what I think is happening is that there is 1 mg (?) to get to the BIOS, and that 1 mg is maybe not being read??? No clue at this point. Before it went down, I was in the BIOS and had it to boot from the CD, but it wouldn't do anything with my CD. I tried the start up disks in the floppy drive with the results being what I said above...saying I don't have enough memory to start windows. In the very beginning, befoe going to the Windows Update center, I was having problems with the screen freezing and had to restart by shutting my computer off with the on/off switch. When I was still able to get into Windows I tried the REPAIR option which didn't work. With trying everything I probably screwed things up real good. Somewhere along the way I know I also tried...the "last good configuration" button as well. ANY IDEAS????

............this is a horror story first class. And i thought that my recent problem was the end......Wauaaww

I had a freeze in my boot sequence. It showed my processor and the frooze. I called a help desk )of my computer and the told me to pull the plug after the system frooze. I did and in the next start-up it went without problems. Now this will most probably not be the solution for your...multiple problems, but hell it only takes a minute to try

After reading this i wont be able to sleep tonight.

If you have a Gigabyte GA-7ZX (Rev 5) , this error message is an indication
of a Bios failure.
