Yesterday I switched my system from an ANII Motherboard running Windows XP, to a KD7A motherboard. I also upgraded to an nVidia GeForce FX 5900 XT. After several grueling hours of transfering, I was greeted upon startpu with an ugly BIOS message concerning my IDE ports. It wouldn't start up until I had dsiconnected at least one drive (I chose my DVD ROM, but I also have 2 hard drives and a CD RW/R+R). Then, when I got into Windows, it prompted for me to re-activate XP. When I get to step three, where it is supposed ot give you a code to give to the automatic teller, there was nothing there. After going through Windows phone tech support, they reccomend hotfix 81139. Instead of making things better, I cannot get into Windows at all from the main screen (at login, I get a message saying that it couldn't validate my software license, and so it logs out. Not to be deterred, I tried two thngs. First, I tried booting in safe mode, which worked about once every 20 tries (I'm getting locked up at line 23, and I think that is a somewhat know problem). When I finally do get in, I try to install Windows XP Proffesional onto my second drive (I have home on the first), but, as soon as it gets a little way into the installer, the entire computer crashes and is accompanied by a beeping siren-like noise (it is NOT a heat issue, and I know that for a fact). I also tried a boot from the startup disk, but the same thing happens there as in the install. So now I'm stuck with a locked out version of XP Home on one drive, and the Setup for Proffesional on the other, and I can't get into either at all.

It doesn't, but the support forums over at ABIT do have alist of beep codes. However, mine isn't on there, which means that it is probably a system memory problem (so says it). This raises an even more serious problem, because I can't change the system memory size without being able to get into XP. If not, then I really have no idea what's going on.

It doesn't, but the ABIT forums do. However, my beep code isn't listed, which suggests a system memory problem. This is VERY bad, because I need to get into XP to change the system memory size, unless there is some way to do it from the BIOS. If it isn't system memory, then I have no idea what the problem even is. I'm not much better off if it is.
