Windows XP and Rational ClearCase

I am trying to install Rational ClearCase_2002.05.00 on a
fresh installation of Windows XP Pro and the setup.exe
does nothing. Every time I run the setup.exe it just
hangs. I never get an error message or see anything. My
guess is that the setup.exe is looking for something and
just not telling me. Anyone have any ideas? I have
contacted Rational and no luck yet.

Can you install anything else? If yes, then the problem is with
ClearCase and you'll have to wait for their help. I Googled for
"Rational ClearCase installation problems" and got several hits - you
might want to look there while you're waiting. If you can't install
*anything* else, then the problem lies with Windows and I'd 1) scan
with current antivirus using updated definitions; 2) remove spyware
with tools such as Spybot S&D and/or Ad-aware; 3) check out Kelly's
