I have Windows XP Home Edition and Palm V. Since my new
machine doesn't have a serial port I am trying to use the
Palm USB connector kit to attach cradle. Palm tech
support has given up on the issue, we have tried
everything and still we get this message when trying to
hotsync " connection could not be established". Is there
anyone else with a new machine with and old Palm that has
found a solution to this?

I have been using a Belkin Serial to USB adapter with great success, so
in principle, USB should work. Palm's implementation, though, has had
problems from the outset. Google Groups advanced search with focus on
comp.sys.palmtops.pilot using the *pilot* groups setting. This has AFIK
been discussed extensively.
