.
Should be able to boot from CD. If there is no way that
works, then might be a hardware failure at worst. If you
have a spare CD drive, try installing that hardware, then
try installing XP again.

Unfortunatly it will not boot from cd. I tried both cd
drives.
Is there anything else I can do?
Thanks

You need first to change the "device boot order" in your
system's BIOS.
1. Go into your BIOS and change this order to FLOPPY,
CDROM, HARDDISK 0 (skip floppy if you want). Usually
pressing DEL, (or F1, or F2) key will get you into BIOS
right after the system is first turned on.
2. Insert Windows cdrom
3. Save your BIOS changes (system reboots)
4. When the bootable cdrom is discovered, uon most BIOS's
you have to press a key to get it to boot to the cdrom.
5. Once on cdrom, either do a new install or try a repair
install. A repair install will leave existing user files &
programs unchanged.
good luck
