Windows XP Activation

I just started a computer I had purchased in April 2003. I went through all the steps to get the system up, and am having problems with the WPA for Windows XP. The system has an OEM copy on it, and being somewhat (not hugely, but can get around the system) computer savvy, I figured I could just look it up and fix it. Problem is, I still have the same information coming up every time I restart. The system tells me I have X number of days to activate, but when I check it, the system tells me it is already activated. How do I fix this? I have looked for the number everyone says should be on the site, but cannot find one. Nor is there an Activate Windows available button in Start/All Programs/System Tools. Please advise.

It also may be that your activation has become "unregistered."
Try this solution, posted by Carey Frisch, MS-MVP:

Possible Resolution:

Boot into "Safe Mode" by pressing (F8) during a reboot.

Go to Start > Run and type: regsvr32 regwizc.dll , and hit enter.
Then go again to Start > Run and type: regsvr32 licdll.dll , and
hit enter again.

Thank you for your response, but it did not work. I restarted and within 2 minutes of system coming back on the activation reminder came on, and it still says I am already registered. Anyone else?
