Does anybody know if is it true that Microsoft will limit the number of times you can active Windows XP? I heard of someone who reformated his HD at least 3 or 4 times this year due to problems with viruses, now he cannot active his retail version of XP any more. He got a message saying something like he already reached the limit of times to active with his "key" number? Is this true, I reinstalled my XP twice so far this year, but I would hesitate to wipe my drive again if this is true...............................

Select the option to "activate by telephone" if you are unable to activate via the internet.

Gotta love M$ spyware built into XP, huh? You should be able to reactivate
over the internet. If that fails, you should be able to reactivate by
phone. Good luck.

Windows XP crashed.
I am the Blue Screen of Death.
No one hears your screams.

Yesterday it worked.
Today it is not working.
Windows is like that.

There's no limit to the number of times you can reinstall and
activate the same WinXP license on the same PC. Nor is there ever a
charge. If it's been more than 120 days since you last activated
that specific Product Key, you'll most likely be able to activate via
the Internet without problem. If it's been less, you might have to
make a 5 minute phone call.

Here are the facts pertaining to activation:
