When i try to start windows xp on my computer the
following message appears:
Windows could not start because the following file is
missing or corrupt - /WINDOWS/SYSTEM/vgaoem.fon - you can
attempt to repair this file by starting windows set up
using the original set up CD-ROM. Select "r" at the first
screen to start repair.
Can anyone tell me what this means? Can i do anything
to fix this problem so my computer will start up? Will i
lose all of the information on my computer? Thank you for
your help.

Do as it says - insert your Windows CD, and select R for repair. Most
likely you won't lose any data if it is able to repair Windows, but as
always, there are no guarantees.
