You'll have a better chance of getting an answer if you post your
question in one of the Vista newsgroups. This one is for XP.

Vista newsgroups:
microsoft.public.windows.vista.general
microsoft.public.windows.vista.administration_account
microsoft.public.windows.vista.hardware_devices
microsoft.public.windows.vista.installation_setup
microsoft.public.windows.vista.mail
microsoft.public.windows.vista.networking_sharing
microsoft.public.windows.vista.performance_maintenance
microsoft.public.windows.vista.print_fax_scan
microsoft.public.windows.vista.security

Because this program can be downloaded, and run from within Windows XP, I
will answer you here.

I have seen the upgrade advisor take 10 minutes on a very fast computer. I
have also seen it take 20-30 minutes (and more) on a slower computer that
has many hardware and software incompatibilities. I suggest you start it at
night and get a good night sleep. Look at the results in the morning.
