I have been using Windows Mail with my Vista operating system for over a
year. I have had no problems whatsoever until a few weeks ago. Now it
allows me to open it, read my email, but after approx. 2 minutes, it shuts
down and tells me it needs to restart. During the restart process, it
terminates and then tells me it will search for a solution.

I have done alot of reading and it all seems to be related to one's AV
software. I am using a package from Computer Associates provided through my
ISP subscription. This is the same package I have used for years and I have
made no changes. Should I be contacted them?

I've been using CA Antivirus for the past 22 months, and have not had
any problems. Also, from my experience working this newsgroup, that
antivirus has not been implicated in any Windows Mail problems.
As a precaution, you should disable its 'Email Protection' in the
advanced settings.

If the problem continues, I suggest you upgrade to Windows Live Mail:
