Windows Vista Business looses time

Hi Everyone

I am running Windows Vista Business on a Dell Inspiron 5150 laptop. Since
I've installed it, I've noticed that my clock is running slow. I mean I loose
several hours in a day. My computer did not loose any time before this
installation, with Windows XP Professional on it. I've seen other people
complaining on the web about the same thing, so I know it's an issue on other
computers. I have not found a solution though. Can anyone help??

You can right-click the clock, the one in the far right hand corner of the
job trey, go to Adjust Date/Time, Internet Time tab, Change Time Settings
button, select one of several Internet Time servers and make the computer's
clock sync with a time server.

Ok guys, here's the deal ... I'm a support professional so I think I know the
simple stuff.

Mr. Arnold, thanks for that but I don't want to update my clock all the
time, I want to know why it's loosing time in the first place. Don't treat
the symptoms, treat the root problem is my theory. Temporarily I have set my
clock updates to happen every hour, until I find out what the problem is.
Thanks for the tip though.

Peter, my battery is fine, thanks. Also, when I had XP on here I never had
an issue with the clock. When my computer is switched off, it does not loose
time. It only looses time when I'm running Vista. Perhaps I should try setup
a dual boot system to compare the difference.

The problem has me fascinated, especially as I see the number of people that
are having similar problems on numerous different machines ... all with vista

Keep the suggestions coming, we will crack this one

I'm on U.S. Mountain Time, I set it to that and when I check back a day or
two later, my clock is running on Beirut time. When I go in to Internet Time
and try to Update using any of the timeclocks selected, it says "An error
occurred while Windows was synchronizing with (whatever one I selected)". Is
there any way to get this to work without errors and keep my clock on
Mountain Time?

Might want to try turning Synchronization off.

If it makes you feel any better, everytime I log into Windows it randomly
chooses between US, Japanese and occasionally Chinese layout of my
keyboard. Now that's annoying!
