Windows Vista Activation

Okay:

Almost there doing the upgrade to Vista. By the way a pain in the back.
Well now i need to activate my copy with the company. The serial number
provided in the box is not working. The system is asking me to BUY another
one. I think I already pay gor this when i bought the software.

What now?
 
Call the Windows Activation Line, I just went through hell because SP1 RC
pretty much wiped me out.
I have called them many times. It's a royal pain, but painless
