Windows using wrong disk partition

How do I change the system to use my C Drive instead of D drive for
installing files, etc.

I upgraded my Compaq Presario to Windows XP Home. It originally had the C
Drive and a "D Drive" for system backups. Now when I used my computer to
create files, accounts, install new software, etc., the system is using the D
drive instead of the C drive. Since the D drive was set up with a small
amount of space for backups, I'm getting the message that I do not have
enough disk space.

How can I change this. Any help would be appreciated!

Sounds like you didn't really do an in-place upgrade, then - or you'd be
using the same partition. I suspect you still have Windows on C. You can't
just switch this now - I suspect you need to back up your data and flatten
the box and start over.

http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/cleanxpinstall.html should help.

Thanks for the info. I did the backup and reinstall and everything seems to
be working fine now. Appreciate your help!
