Hello,

My computer's operating system is Windows XP and I am
having trouble installing windows updates. When I go to
the MS Windows updates site and try to install/download
the latest updates, the computer doesn't do anything. It
just remains on the page. The specific download shows
that it should be less than 1 minute to install, and I
wait at least 30-40 minutes but nothing happens. However
I have noticed that when I try to close the updates
windows I receive the following message: Are you sure you
want to navigate from this page? Moving from this page
will cancel the installation process. Some items will not
get installed. Press OK to continue or cancel to stay on
the current page.

HELP!

I don't know what would cause this to happen and what I
should do to fix it. Your assistance would be much
appreciated.

Thank you.

HI, I don't know what causes that but I have had the same
thing happen to me. What I do is close down and reboot
and do it again and it works. Hopefully someone can
explain why this continues to happen and we can both avoid
it. :)

I think that you may have your security set too high for your browser. You
should see a signed ActiveX control window pop-up asking if you trust the
control from Microsoft. Check your browser settings for the 'Internet
Zone'.

hth,
Nate
