The VAST majority of computers that have been screwed up in the past few
weeks have been the result of people trusting Microsoft' Automatic Update
fiasco.
Then - you guys come here and post links to supposed(?) fixes that are,
mostly, automatic changes to the registry.
Would it hurt too much for ya to at least give an indication of just WHAT
the cause of the problem is and WHAT the supposed cure does BEFORE you send
folks off to, yet another, site that is to *automatically* fix their system?

You guys? This is a peer to peer support group with people volunteering
their time and effort. Would it hurt you too much to learn something,
investigate by looking at the reg import files and do some leg work
yourself? BTW those fixes fixed the OP's problem.

Am female, but as I know the term 'guys' applies to all, living in the
south, anyway. As for my edits, each can be read in notepad. Through my
years helping out in the MS groups, most folks just want the fix not the
logistics. However, when asked, I will provide such. Your comment was
stated generically and I will leave my answer in kind.

You are very welcome and your feedback is greatly appreciated. :o)
