Windows Update

For some reason Windows Update started downloading something (very big) and I
would like to cancel the download. Everytime I log on to the internet it
automatically starts up again. I try to click on the icon in the toolbar on
the bottom of my screen, but nothing happens. When I put my cursor over the
icon it indicates that 53% has been downloaded. Is there any way I can
cancel the download? It is really slowing me down.

If you don't have windows xp sp2, it is a huge download and was distributed
in increments not to everyone at once. You can go to the microsoft site
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/updates/sp2/cdorder/en_us/default.mspx and order a cd instead.

I already ordered and received the sp2 cd. I just haven't had time to
install it yet. I really would like to know how to stop the download that I
accidentally started several days ago with windows update. Now it is has
downloaded 57% of sp2. Is there any way to stop the download?????

You will stop it by installing your sp2 disk.
