Recently upgraded from 98SE to XP Pro. When I try to retrieve updates,
nothing happens. The Windows Update site loads, window pops up, and I get
the standard "searching for updates" notification, but it stays right there.
No hourglass, no failure/error, nothing. System does not hang up. The
"View" and "Install" buttons are grayed out, others are not. I can click and
go to these other destinations. Have run AV (Norton) and Spyware (SpyBot) -
all clean. Any ideas?
