I did receive the SP2 disc in the mail. My windows update keeps reminding
me to download and install the update from the update site. How do I
delete it from the update site? I'm choosing not to install it at this time
(but I will).

Thanks

Hope this answers your question. Click on Start/Control Panel/System and
under Automatic Updates, uncheck that box.

I want to continue receiving Automatic Updates... I just don't want them to
keep telling me to download SP2.
Can it only be deleted from the updates if I download it?

When Automatic updates reminds you, how are you currently dismissing the
prompt?

I would configure Automatic Updates to download automatically and then
notify me. Then review the details of the downloaded updates, and uncheck
SP2. It should then leave you alone. When you are ready to install SP2,
you can either install it from your CD or go back in to System > Properties
(WinKey+PauseBreak) > Automatic updates and select the "Offer updates againg
that I've previously hidden" option. Keep in mind that I'm looking at XP
Pro SP2 as I type this. The same option in 2kSP4 is a button to "Declined
Updates". Yours may be different again.

Alternately, it looks like there is a similar way to decline updates when
you select the "Notify me before downloading..." option.

Here is a good review:

Check the options inside Windows Update.

You might want to try this, if you already haven't.

Ensure you are connected to your web server.

Open Internet Explorer.

Under the Tools menu, click Update Windows

Things get different here depending on what Operating system and version you
have installed.

Find the critical software update for SP2.
Uncheck the Install check box. There should be a check box called "Hide
this update." Check it and close I.E.

This seems to prevent the Auto update from trying to install it.
