Hi,
I won't go into the reason why, but I was wondering if it is possible to access the area on a Windows 2000 Pro, box that stores the Windows Update History of Successful and Failed installations?
If so, is it possible to modify the file at all? In other words, if an attempted download of a few patches failed due to a temporary glitch, but immediately succeeded on the next try a few seconds later, and I wanted to edit out the Failed attempot messages on the View Update History page, of those patches, is it poossible to do so?
If it is indeed possible, where would one look for them and what is the best way to accomplish this? I know that MS creates a GUID, when you use the Update feature, but is there a text file or something like that which determines what the Windows Update History page displays?
If anyone has any feedback on this, I would GREATLY appreciate it!
P.S. Are there several places that would need to be modified to remove any indication of failed attempts, if it is possible? In other words, I want the machine to show that all the attempts were Successful and no indication anywhere of Failed attempts. Thank you very much for any input.
