Windows Update Problems-HELP!

Need some help with Windows Update. For about 10-14 days , I continually get
"Cannot Display Page" errors every time I try any Microsoft update site or
almost any Microsoft site. I have applied various and sundry changes based
on information gleaned from various sites [kellyskorner,dougknox,etc] plus
postings I have seen in this and other newsgroups. Nothing resoves the
problem and it seems only to get worse. I realize part of the problem is
increased traffic to the site because of publicity about the Blaster Virus
but other people are getting there [with much complaining about slowness]
but I never do. Always "Cannot Display Page". Anyone have any ideas about
the cause? I feel that I am missing something simple.
Today I get the same result in trying to access the main Microsoft site!!

Scroll down to: Windows Update has encountered an error and cannot
supply the requested page; Cannot Display Page (Windows XP). Sounds like
your problem to me, if not peruse the other problems. Hope this helps.
