Well, I recently ran Windows Update and I attempted to
install the "Silicon Image storage software update
released on February 03 2004" that it indicated I
needed. It didn't work... and I tried many times to get
it to install, since the instructions on the page
stated "No Updates Were Installed. The following items
failed to install. To try installing them again, click
Review and install updates, and then click Install Now
again.

Silicon Image storage software update released on
February 03 2004."

So now, every time I reboot, Windows tells me that it has
found new hardware, then it tells me that it has failed
to install the driver and my hardware may not work
properly. Shortly after that, the automatic windows
update tells me that it has downloaded new drivers and it
is ready to install, then it says to reboot. Then, when
I reboot, it tells me that it has failed to install the
drivers and my hardware may not work properly.

Since this is my RAID controller, and I am utilizing a
RAID array, I am rather concerned about this...

Thanks!

Well, that advice is a bit late. In the meantime,
everytime I reboot, the same problem keeps occuring...
even when I try to install the latest drivers from the
motherboard manufacturer... the site you mentioned
doesn't seem to have a functioning download page for
what "may" be what I need, so I stuck with ASUS...

Well if you disconnect from the net and delete the MS downloaded driver they
cannot reload.
Place the ASUS drivers on a floppy and reload them by either pointing device
manager or new hardware wizard to that location.I have a ASUS MOBO and have
downloaded and installed new Raid Sata drivers in this manner.
