windows update page

I'm running 98se with IE6.0 and have had NO problems. I
cannot now access any Microsoft page nor can I go to
windows update page. I did all the troublshooting
tips....clearing files, Temp internet files, history etc.
I even uninstalled IE 6 and reinstalled it and still have
the same problem. My settings are set to accept active x
controls, I have the vbs 6 file installed and also
Microsoft vm. Any other solutions?

It may be a HOSTS file problem.
Look also for a file named HOSTS (no extension, could be hidden) rename it
OLDHOSTS.
