Windows Update, Outlook

This is a suggestion for Microsoft.

Don't assume that everyone uses Outlook. If a computer
doesn't have outlook running, do not suggest installing
updates for it!

Obviously, I don't use Outlook. I never have and I
probably never will. Over and over, Windows update
reports that it has critical patches for me, and when I
look closely, often they are Outlook patches, which are
totally irrelevant.

It would be really great (i.e. helpful to your operating
system customers) to have an easy way to uninstall
Outlook so completely that the Windows Update service
does not need to patch it!

"totally irrelevant"?
Are you sure?
Some vulnerabilities are there and thus exploitable whether you
actually use the application or not.
The real question is "Is the application applicable to the patch
installed on the computer?"
If yes you most likely need the patch.

Thanks for the input but, are you talking about "Outlook" or Outlook
Express? They are two different applications.
