Windows Update Notification

I use Windows XP and I normally do *not* log on into as an administrator.

Thus, I do not see Windows Update notification of critical updates being
available - is there any way as a "limited" user to be notified that
critical udpdates are available for downloading.

I know that I could periodically log in at administrator level to check for
notification, but if possible I want to avoid this requirement. I know that
I need to log in at adminstrator level to do the actual update when
required, but that's not a problem.

Can anyone help me with this one?

TIA

Thanks for letting me know about signing up for MS's Security Bulletins.

BTW, I did sign up, but also put a shortcut of Windows Update on my desktop
with advanced properties for 'run with different credentials' set on - this
allows me to run Windows Update as 'administrator' level user from my
'limited' level user logon.
