Windows Update not offering SP2

I have three home computers all running XP. For two, I have successfully
installed SP2 through Windows update. Whenever I check for updates on my
third computer (currently SP1) it says there are no new updates available.

I have gone through the prerequisites for installing SP2 and see no problem
there. I turned on automatic updates but that was no help either.

I need to try SP2 on this computer since it contains a fix suggested by the
manufacturer of my wireless hardware. See

Download the full network version, 266 MB from here:

Download and Deploy Service Pack 2 to Multiple Computers
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/winxppro/maintain/sp2predl.mspx

Or you can order a free SP2 CD from MS. Usually comes in less than a week:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/updates/sp2/cdorder/en_us/default810.mspx

Or pick up a free CD any any one of number of office supply stores like
Staples or Office Depot. It's also attached to many PC magazines on the
shelf.

I found out there is a very good reason Microsoft is not offering the update
to my third computer. It has a specific kind of processor which if combined
with the wrong BIOS will cause a corrupted install of SP2, thus hosing my
system.

If I want to do a manual install of SP2 I had better preinstall the patch
mentioned in the article.
