Does anyone who uses windowsupdate know:

(1) is this program going to be a monthly push for windowsupdate ?
(2)since it states for blaster and a few other apps, is it the same
"old" program - just pushed monthly?
(3) HOW TO STOP IT FROM SHOWING UP ? I don't need a push from
May,April,March etc. I chose to hide one month, next scan shows previous
month - hide it , next time get previous month .... all the way back.
And no way to see ALL versions to check HIDE on all of them.

The one pushed the other day was revised so that a lot of machines that
failed before will now pass.

Are you referring to the Windows Genunine Advantage update, Frank? The poster was asking about the Malicious Software Removal Tool.

Yes, its monthly, and even though the description isn't changed, it is updated to counter new threats and variations on old ones.

Attribute it to old age.

I had as notify only - notifies me of June update.
I checked - don't tell me again.
It notifies me of May update.
I checked - don't tell me again.
I boot the next day,
It notifies me of April update.
I checked - don't tell me again.
March
I checked - don't tell me again.
It notifies me of Feb update.
etc

See previous replies. A new version of MSRT has been released monthly since
it was introduced over a year ago. Hiding one month's version doesn't
affect any others.

That being said, if you allow the most recent version to run (or download
and run it manually), that /may/ take care of the others.

You don't ever have to run it.
If you have automatic updates enabled it will run automatically once a
month. Otherwise redownload it once a month and run it.

thanks
