I just installed this new update from the update site. I can no longer receive some forms
of streaming media. I went to Add/Remove programs but the update is not there. Tried to do
a System Restore but the update has done something where any restore points on or before
the update won't work. Anything after the update installation will work, but that does me
no good.

"This is not a good one Microsoft".

Any Suggestions?

see http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=870669
They suggest disabling the service and using a third party
app for streaming.

What exactly was the problem you were trying to fix with the update? Or,
do you just download them and hope for the best?

No problem.

Keep in mind may have the updates automaticly download and install......Beware

After 16 years of working with Windows, I have never had any problems with their products.
I have installed every update weather it applied to me or not. Never had a problem.

Now, if you are going to say "Why install something that doesn't apply to your system". I
probably deserve it and will be a little more wise next time.

Found the answer for the streaming problem. Reset the Internet Options>Advanced to Default
and all is working OK. I don't have any idea how those setting changed. I never mess with
them.
