I have had numerous problems here. Thank goodness for Acronis Backup. I
have been away for a month and started doing my backups. After downloading
all language updates it crashes. I now am downloading one by one..at the
last one it crashes. Doesnt matter which language it is. I dont think its
only the languages but im trying out the other updates one at a time.

Just curious. Do you really need ALL language updates?

"No I definitely dont. I just like to see the updates clear..."

Then just hide them.....

As Chris said just hide them. Be aware that not ALL updates should
always be downloaded. One example would be sound and video drivers.
It best to get them from the manufacturer. Microsoft's drivers have
been known to cause many problems, at least in the past.

I've found just the opposite on ATI video drivers for my X1300 Pro. Out of
the box as well as the couple of windows updates have all worked flawlessly
whereas when downloading the latest from ATI, I had no end of BSODs with all
sorts of messages. Reverting back to a restore point made everything smooth
again.

Granted, I'm not a game player so video performance beyond Aero Glass and
video isn't an issue for me.

That's why I said in the past :-) Vista has changed the rules. I've
always downloaded from the manufacturer's website. My results were the
the opposite of yours. My card (ATI 9800 Pro) wasn't working well at all
until I loaded ATI's drivers.
