My XP Pro machine with service pack 2 has suddenly stopped being able to
install updates. It downloads them in the background when I am online but
when I shut my machine down I have the little icon indicating there are
updates to install. When I install them it says installing 1 of e.g. 5 and
then doesn't do anything. I have tried manually installing them but it just
freezes on 0% and doesn't go any further. Any ideas, regards, Chris.

You might want to post your question to the experts in the windows

Try repairing the OS and then run the updates again. Sounds like something in
the OS is all jacked up...

Good Luck
