Windows update (2nd post)

Come on, there must be some geniuses out there that can solve my problem
pleasssssssssssssssssse, I seem to be having problems with windows update,
when I access the web page it says checking latest version of windows update
and that's it, just sits there and does nothing, this started about a week
ago, all fine till then.
Have been working with windows update support from deleting activex controls
and doing clean boot to installing new ones, renaming windows update files,
reinstalling internet explorer.
Any other suggestions would be welcome.

Select W and scroll to WinUpdates
 
Thanx for replying Roger, and yep done it, but problem now been resolved by
windows update support, Incorrect security settings in explorer and temp
files.
