I have two computers; laptop and a desktop. I have them connected on my
network and am comparing and contrasting so that I can clean up duplicate
files. When done, I want to re-format both, but before I do, I would like to
create a template of how I want my XP Pro to look/feel so that it is exactly
the same on both computers. Is there a way to do this?

Simply nope - but it's a good Idea for a Utility program.

otherwise once your happy with setting up one computer copy...

Your entire ProgamFiles folder to the other
and ...
WIN/Sytem32

Now export your registry and import it on the other computer.
Note some software will place other intersting directories/files on your
computer so you will find out about these once you start the programs on the
other comp.

NOTE: Technicaly this is all illegal - your only supposed to use single
copies of software., unless your using freebies.

NOTE: You probably should only export the ROOT branch first and then Pick
off the software Branch in LOCAL computer /User - depending on how you setup
your software to avoid overwriting your hardware setup.

PS for software that is specific to the computer - you could then
systematically delete from the other computer (or not copy them over in the
first place.)

NOTE: not a MSoft Certified PRO!
