Help! Please! I don't want to restore! No startup disc
came with my computer which is only 2/5 months old.
WindowsXP Home won't load due to corupted or missing file.

Can't find appropriate download product. Can this be fixed
without restore?

Yes it can, but you need a CD to do so. You need to run the recovery
console once you've booted from CD, and restore the registry. There are
explicit directions at Microsoft:

I had this and it didn`t work. (system restore didn`t work)
I formatted HD re installed and still get it !!!

Yeah mate.
I did the recovery in the first 2 steps as to the instructions, and the 3rd
step was system restore.
How come after a reinstall and format I still have the problem?
