windows system error

today a window popped up on my computer saying "there is
an IP address conflict with another system on the
network". what does this mean? thanks for the help

It means exactly that. My guess is another PC (e.g. a laptop, or some other
PC that isn't usually connected) with a static IP address assigned was
connected to the network, and it's the same as yours. Contact your sys
admin.
