Orginally I had my documents, my music, my pictures, my recent files,
favorites, and my computer in the upper right section.. (above help and
support)

I renamed "MY MUSIC" to "PLAY ME" with the intent of storing various mp3's
in there i could just select from the column menu of MY MUSIC..

It was fine and set but then I looked back sometime later and PLAY ME aka MY
MUSIC is in a folder under my documents in my menu, and I can't drag it back
into place..

Is there a way I can get MY MUSIC back into the list without resetting
numerous other things?

You're mixing up two concepts as if they were one and the same thing - a
start menu shortcut and the actual location of the folder. Regroup your
thinking on these two things.

By default, Windows XP creates and maintains a My Music folder inside of
the My Documents folder of each user. This is where the music files are
stored.

The My Music start panel item does not contain the music files. It is a
shortcut - a direct route to the music folder. It is an optional item on
the start panel. You can use the Taskbar/Start Menu properties to
add/remove items in this area, including My Music. Once that shortcut is
added to the Start Menu, it can be renamed.

A quick way to access the start menu page of the Taskbar/Start Menu
properties is to right click the start button and select Properties.

Thank you very much. ;)
