Windows sound scheme

While setting up and testing some programs to use for
recording from my home stereo to my hard drive, and then
to burn to CD's, I accidentally recorded over some of the
wave files in my sound scheme for system events. I would
like to re install the missing files. I did a search of
my Micron OS recovery disk but came up with no files
found. Does anybody know how I can recover these sounds
without having to reinstall Windows?
I'm running Windows XP.
I'm grateful for any help, Thanks ~John~

Carey...Thanks for the tip but it didn't work. Somehow,
while attempting to record music, I erased the files(by
recordig silence over the origial .wav file. The
original .wav files must be on the OS recovery disk.
Thanks again,
John
