windows shutting down

when ever i access the internet I am getting a pop-up
message saying 'windows is shutting down. Shut down is
initialised by NT security/

I am searching MSFT for EXACTLY the same thing. I
suspected the Blaster worm, and have spent days cleaning
my computer only to be told by Symantec that I have the
latest definitions, and after scanning told that I have
NO infected files. BUT I STILL NOTICE A SLOW operating
computer, and get that "windows is shutting down" message.

If you get an answer, I'd like to receive it too.
 
Jackie did you bother to install the patch from Microsoft? If not it is
your computer is getting shutdown by other infected computers trying to
infect yours. Also you should run a firewall.
