When I try to shut down windows, nothing happens. I have to turn off the computer (lap top) with the on/off switch. Then it goes into the restperiod and doesn't close down windows properly. How can I change this?

Hi

For shutdown/restart problems, please have a look at MVP Jim Eshelman's web
site:

Have you checked you have the right BIOS settings? Is APM turned on?

Check the archive of this newsgroup for links to websites that can help -
although not in my case (have Asrok motherboard and have tried everything to
no avail)
