althought I set Chinese as default input language, 2k3 OS still display
Chinese character as ?? in notepad. It is ok in wordpad, but not ok in our
in-house application.

in Win2k server, we can read Chinese character in notepad once we set the
default input as Chinese. But win2k3 is not working that way.

What should I do?

Thanks a lot

Not sure what your problem is with using Notepad and switching
languages, but most problems with reading/writing in another language
when using an English OS are due to improper installation of the
language.

Go here to see if his instructions regarding installing Asian language
support in XP or Office can help. I know you're using Windows Server
2003, but perhaps the instructions will help you.
