Not sure if this is a question or suggestion:

Why does not the "right-click" copy or paste work in Windows Search? Even on
the menu in edit, they are grey'd out...

Jim

Simply because the results are displayed as if in a folder - but they
are from many locations - so you could not possibly "paste" a file to a
'Results Page'...

....but the "Copy" and "Cut" command are *not* in fact, greyed out!

Jim,
I don't follow you at all... Do you mean that on your PC you
cannot use (right-click or menu) 'copy' and 'paste' items in the "All or
part of the file name" or the "A word or phrase in the file" search
boxes?

Or did you mean something else?

Because I have no problem with this on my system (XP Pro. SP3)

Copy and paste into the fields to search. Not the results.

The "edit" menu pertains only to files in the results panel, not the search
boxes, which have Undo, Copy, Cut, Paste, Delete, and Select All, on the
right click menus, some of which are grayed out, depending whether the box
is blank, or a search term is unselected, or selected, etc. In plainer
words, they all work appropriately for me.
