I just received a new computer at work and I am trying to set up the windows
search toolbar in outlook. I have installed both windows search 4 and the
windows live toolbar. I checked the windows live toolbar options and the
outlook toolbar option isn't showing up. I tried adding the outlook add-in
but that just appears to expand the search to saved messages. I really
prefer to have the windows search toolbar in outlook as I have gotten in the
habit as using it. Can anyone tell me what else needs to be installed in
order to get the toolbar back in outlook. I also checked to make sure it
wasn't disabled as an option in outlook and no items show up as disabled.
Any help would be appreciated.

Your preference I guess, but Windows Search is malware IMO. It wound up
on user workstations and then they couldn't figure out why everything
was running so slowly.

Hopefully your "work" has policies in place to prevent users from
installing things like this.

You should ask the IT people whether installing software is allowed, and
if it is, let them figure it out for you.
