I see that Windoes Search 4.0 is out.

How do I check if I have a version - and which version? (Vista Business
with SP1)?

Given that it's a preview release, I would not recommend installing it.
Since it's for "Vista and Windows Server 2008" I would assume it's a newer
version than any prior Windows Desktop search you might have installed. :-)
