Hi All,

I have heard that I can clear up a lot of disk space by eliminating
old Windows Restore Files.

Where can I find them and is there some special way to delete them
without causing problems?

thanks,
Jeff Walters

Your answer was answered quite nicely by another post by MVP Carey

I am using Free Agent and for some reason the link does not work. I
also could not find the subject. Was that the full title of the
subject?

I'm not going to go searching for the post, but if you want to remove
old System Restore Points, you can do it in two ways:

1. From the System applet in control Panel, click on the System Restore
tab. Check the "Turn off System Restore on all drives". Apply & OK and
answer "yes" to the "are you sure" prompt. I've been told it isn't
necessary to reboot, but I do. Then afterwards go back to that spot and
turn SR on again. Use the slider to make SR only use about 1500MB and
only monitor the system drive.

2. Or, if you would like to keep the last Restore Point:
Start>Run>cleanmgr [enter]

Under More Options, you can delete all but the most recent System
Restore Point.
