I'm currntly running XP pro SP1 + updates but I've a
feeling that somes files have been deleted preventing the
correct operation of System Information and Help &
Support Centre. Question is can I use the msiexec command
with the appropriate command line options without
screwing up the whole operating system?

Thanks SSG for the link BUT the question is basically
will msiexec do the repair of Windows XP or are there
going to be problems? Is it designed only to be used
for .msi packages apart from "WINNT32"?

msiexec i think is designed to repair things like a windows
installer.XP is theoretically designed not to lose
files......it can repair most problems on reboot...however
another repair method is to load the windows XP Cd..u can
use drwatson to see if a problem exists in XP
