Having a problem with Windows XP shutdown on Compaq
Presario 5000. Instead of a complete shutdown, system will
reboot. After disabling 'restart after failure' I get
message:
A problem has been detected.....(rest of message generic
or not needed)
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
If this is the first time......

System was fine before brought to me except for browser
being 'hi-jacked', Removed/disabled all spyware (only
removed those programs with uninstall available, disabled
all others in msconfig).
After that system would not shut down. No other changes
made. Only hardware difference is monitor.
I understand what the general problem is, but can't figure
specific area to look in. Any help would be appreciated.
