Windows picure downloader won't work

Hi,
I've always been able to just slide the memory card from my camera directly
into the computer at which point I get the Windows picture downloader.

Today for some reason it won't work and nothing happens when I install the
card.

Naturally it had to be Thanksgiving day. When I really don't have time to
sit over this and just need to get pictures of my card onto the computer.

Jay,
Have you tried re boot then insert card? Can you see the card in my computer
could you move them manually?

Yea just open up "my computer" and the card slot should show up as a drive.
You can double-click it and you should see the pictures. You can then load
them onto your computer manually.

I did that.
Didn't see it as a drive.
I may have disabled something in msconfig recently.

Yes I tried that but the compute didn't recognize anything.
There is no extra drive.
I can not see any extra drives, only the DVD drives.

Try a system restore to a recent date on which you know it worked.
