Windows Picture Viewer : .jpg = .bmp ?

When I right click on a .jpg ( or any other format ) to "
save as " , the picture viewer ( or possibly IE ) keeps
saving them as Bitmaps . When I hit the little arrow
toggle button to see the other supported file types , it
shows only " .bmp " .

Has anyone else had this problem ?

Is there a download or fix to get Picture/Fax Viewer ( or
IE ) to recognize different types or media ?

Feel free to respond to the board or my email .

In IE, click on Tools, Internet options. A window will open, click on Delete
Internet Temporary files button in the middle of this window. Click on the
Advanced tab, scroll down the box to Security. Check the box
"Empty...........when closing browser.
Close IE and open again. You should now have the jpg option.
 
First of all , I would like to thank all those who
responded to my message . Your advice was very helpful .

The fixes worked , for a while , but now it's the same
problem . I've deleted the temporary files , both on and
offline , changed the advanced security setting , and
restarted the computer twice , but IE is still telling me
that every picture is a Bitmap .

What do I do now ?
